This gripper, extremely light and compact, uses 2 completely watertight chambers that house electronic and mechanical components, preventing possible malfunctions caused by saltwater.
All versions feature a steel cable anchor guard, which protects the anchor's end from potential rubbing against rocks and allows for easy removal of the buoystone when not in use.
The end of GRIPPY's rope is connected to the anchor's diamond, which will unfold automatically when lowered. The self-regulation allows GRIPPY to float on the perpendicular of the anchor, indicating its position.
In the LIGHT, HEAVY, and ABR versions, solar cells are present for battery activation, required for nighttime lighting, which automatically activates at night. In the ABR version (Automatic Brake Rope: when the device exceeds a 90° inclination while raising the anchor, the slide of the clamp immediately stops, allowing for easy recovery of the buoy directly from the clamp) these cells also power the electronics responsible for the cable lock.
In case of a jammed anchor, it can be released by recovering the gripple, thanks to its high breaking load. Upon recovery of the anchor, GRIPPY will automatically rewind its rope, positioning itself under the bow of the boat.
